Here are the steps for reserving a half, or even a whole, beef:

  1. Send us an email grassfeddexter@gmail.com.

  2. Go to the bulk beef page here and print the Smith Valley Meats cut sheet, or visit their web page and print from there.

  3. No later than two weeks before we drop the animals off, we need your cut sheet and $500 deposit. You can send in deposit and cut sheet as soon as you decide to purchase, and we recommend reserving quickly especially as the next butcher date is fall of 2024!

  4. A couple days after we drop the animals off, we will call Smith Valley Meats and confirm the hanging weight of the animal. We will contact you with this information. This determines the remaining cost which has to paid at beef pick up or before.

  5. The beef will hang for 30 days of dry aging, so, estimated beef pick up will be about a month after drop off.

  6. Next step is we go back to Rich Creek, VA and pick it up. We will then meet you within 15 miles of Marion, VA or Shady Valley, TN for you to take your healthy, custom cut, delicious Dexter beef home!
